A tyre shop in Al Quoz is often the first stop for Dubai drivers who want choice, because Al Quoz Industrial Areas 1 to 4 hold dozens of tyre traders and workshops within a few streets of each other. It is a legitimate place to buy, as long as you check the DOT date, know whether a tyre is new, used or a parallel import, and agree the full price before the car goes up. 800 UAE Tyres offers the other route: tyres quoted on WhatsApp and fitted at your home or office from AED 100, with our own Al Quoz partner workshop for jobs that need a lift or alignment rig.
What the Al Quoz tyre strip actually offers
The Al Quoz tyre strip is a cluster of small traders, fitting bays and alignment workshops spread through Al Quoz Industrial Areas 1 to 4, between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. In a single afternoon you can see Michelin, Bridgestone and Pirelli on one corner and Triangle, Westlake or Roadstone on the next, which makes it easy to compare.
Many of these businesses have served Dubai drivers for years, and bargaining is part of the culture there; a quoted price often moves by AED 20–50 per tyre if you are buying a full set. Unusual sizes, such as older 16-inch Land Cruiser fitments or staggered sports-car sets, are often easier to find in Al Quoz than anywhere else in Dubai.
Five things to check at any tyre shop in Al Quoz
The single most useful habit in Al Quoz is reading the sidewall before agreeing a price, because the same size and brand can be on the shelf with very different histories. Check these points at whichever shop you choose:
None of this means a shop is doing anything wrong; these are simply the variables that change what you are getting for your money. A good trader will answer each point without hesitation.
- DOT date: the last four digits show week and year, so 3823 means week 38 of 2023, already about three years old in late 2026. In this heat, aim for under two years at fitting.
- Parallel or grey imports: tyres brought in outside the brand's local distributor can be genuine and cheaper, but may not carry the local warranty, and some are built for cooler markets. Ask which it is.
- Nearly new or part-worn used tyres: the price is tempting, but you cannot see internal damage from an earlier puncture or a run on low pressure. Check tread depth and the inside for patches.
- The real total: a low headline price per tyre can rise once valves, balancing, nitrogen and old-tyre disposal are added. Ask for one figure for four tyres fitted.
- Load and speed rating: make sure the replacement matches or beats the original, especially on heavy SUVs and run-flat cars.
Why a mobile fit can beat the trip from Marina, JVC, Arabian Ranches or Mirdif
For most standard sizes, a mobile fit lands at a similar total to an Al Quoz shop once fitting, balancing, valves and disposal are counted, and it costs you no time on the road. We quote the same three tiers you would find on the strip, for example a 215/55 R17 for a Camry at about AED 260–350 value, AED 350–480 mid-range or AED 500–700 premium, with the DOT year listed for each.
The technician comes to your Marina tower basement, JVC building, Arabian Ranches villa or Mirdif driveway, usually within 30–45 minutes in city areas, and the van carries the changer and balancer to finish the job in the car park. You can still compare: ask several Al Quoz traders for prices, then send us the same size on WhatsApp and decide. Payment is by card, cash, Tabby or Tamara in 4 split payments.
Our own Al Quoz partner workshop, and when we use it
We also rely on Al Quoz: our partner workshop there handles the jobs a van cannot, such as four-wheel alignment on a rig, work that needs the car on a two-post lift, rim straightening and suspension checks after a hard pothole or kerb hit. Its location just off Sheikh Zayed Road makes it a short hop from Al Barsha, Al Sufouh and Business Bay.
A common pattern is to have tyres fitted at home in the evening, then drop the car at the Al Quoz workshop for alignment on a weekday morning when the area is quiet. We only recommend that step when the old tyres show uneven wear or the steering is off-centre, and the quote explains why.
