About Triangle
Triangle Tyre was established in 1976 in Weihai, a coastal city in Shandong province, and grew into one of China's biggest tyre manufacturers, listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Its reputation was built on truck and bus radials and on off-the-road tyres for mining and construction equipment, which are widely used in Gulf quarries and ports. Passenger and SUV tyres came later and have improved steadily with newer ranges such as the EffeX and AdvanteX lines. Most Triangle tyres sold in the UAE are made in China.
Strengths
- Low purchase price

Performance
Triangle's passenger tyres give adequate dry grip for everyday driving, and the EffeX Sport TH202 steers more crisply than you would expect for the price. In the wet, however, braking distances are noticeably longer than mid-range tyres, and the limit arrives sooner on roundabouts and slip roads. Ride quality is on the firm side and road noise is higher, especially on the grooved concrete sections of the E311. Triangle's strength is its light-truck range: the TR292 all-terrain and the TR259 highway tyre are tough and long-wearing on working pickups.
Durability and tread life
Triangle's harder compounds help tread life: passenger tyres commonly last 35,000–50,000 km on UAE sedans, and the TR259 or TR292 on a Hilux often reaches 45,000–60,000 km. The trade-off is that hard rubber loses grip sooner as it ages in the heat. Sidewalls are robust on LT sizes but less so on budget passenger fitments, so check for bulges after hitting kerbs or deep potholes. Replace at around 4–5 years from the DOT date.
Triangle in UAE conditions
Triangle is easy to find in Sharjah's Industrial Area, Ajman and Abu Dhabi's Mussafah, and is widely fitted to pickups, vans, labour buses and older sedans. It makes the most sense for working vehicles where tread life and price matter more than refinement. For a family car on daily highway runs, a mid-range tyre will brake noticeably shorter in rain. Check the DOT date, because some imported stock sits in warehouses longer than premium brands, and do not accept tyres more than about 2 years old at fitting.
