About Goodyear
Frank Seiberling founded the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, in 1898, naming it after Charles Goodyear, who discovered rubber vulcanisation in 1839 but had no link to the company. Goodyear became the world's largest tyre maker for much of the 20th century, launched its famous blimps in 1925 and bought Cooper Tire in 2021. In 2025 it agreed to sell its remaining Dunlop brand rights to Japan's Sumitomo Rubber, focusing the group on Goodyear and Cooper.

Performance
Goodyear's best tyres are strongest in the wet. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has excellent wet braking and aquaplaning resistance, useful when sudden winter storms flood underpasses in Sharjah and Dubai. Dry handling is good but slightly less sharp than Pirelli or Michelin's sports ranges. Comfort is solid, and the Assurance TripleMax 2 is quiet and soft for family sedans. The Wrangler range trades some road refinement for toughness.
Durability and tread life
Expect 30,000–40,000 km from an Eagle F1 on a sporty sedan, 40,000–50,000 km from an Assurance TripleMax 2, and 45,000–60,000 km from Wrangler AT Adventure tyres on a Hilux or Patrol used mainly on the road. The Wrangler AT Adventure uses Kevlar in the casing, which helps it resist cuts from rocks and sharp stones on wadi tracks. Rotation every 10,000 km evens out the wear on heavy American SUVs, which tend to wear front shoulders quickly.
Goodyear in UAE conditions
Goodyear tyres in the UAE come from factories in the US, Germany, Slovenia, Poland, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. Large American SUVs like the Tahoe and Yukon often arrive on Goodyear from the factory, so replacement in the same size is straightforward. Look for a recent DOT code such as 3025 (week 30 of 2025) and avoid stock older than 2 years. Desert drivers on Wrangler tyres should air down to 15–18 psi on sand and re-inflate to 35–38 psi before the highway.
