About GT Radial
Giti Tire traces its roots to 1951 and the tyre business of the Gajah Tunggal group in Indonesia, and the GT Radial name became its export brand as the group expanded into China in the 1990s. Giti is now headquartered in Singapore and runs large plants in China and Indonesia, plus a factory in South Carolina in the United States. It has supplied original-equipment tyres to carmakers including Volkswagen, General Motors and several Chinese brands, and GT Radial tyres appear in endurance racing series. In the Gulf, GT Radial is mainly sold as a fair-priced replacement brand for sedans, SUVs, pickups and vans.
Strengths
- Good price-to-quality ratio for daily drivers
- Comfortable ride on touring and SUV highway models
- Strong van and light-truck range for fleets
- Original-equipment experience gives more consistent quality than many budget brands
Weaknesses
- Wet braking is clearly behind mid-range and premium brands
- Tread life is shorter than Japanese and American mid-range tyres
- Rubber hardens faster in UAE heat, so grip falls off after about 3 years

Performance
GT Radial tyres drive predictably and quietly at normal UAE speeds. The Champiro FE2 is comfortable on city roads and highways, with reasonable dry grip, but its wet braking distance is noticeably longer than a Falken or Michelin, so leave extra space during winter rain. The SportActive 2 gives better steering response for sporty sedans at a modest price. On SUVs, the Adventuro HT is a comfortable road tyre, while the Adventuro AT3 handles gravel and moderate sand. The Maxmiler Pro is a durable van tyre that suits delivery and staff-transport fleets.
Durability and tread life
Expect 30,000–45,000 km from a GT Radial passenger tyre on a typical UAE sedan, and 40,000–50,000 km from the Adventuro HT on a mid-size SUV. Van tyres such as the Maxmiler Pro often reach 50,000 km or more on Hiace and Urvan fleets with correct load pressures. The compounds lose softness faster than premium rubber in the Gulf sun, so even with good tread depth, grip and comfort decline after roughly 3–4 years. Replace by 5 years from the DOT date and earlier if you see sidewall cracks.
GT Radial in UAE conditions
GT Radial is widely available in the UAE, including in Sharjah's Industrial Area and Abu Dhabi's Mussafah, and is especially common on taxis, rental cars and company vans. It is a sensible choice when you need four tyres at a lower budget or plan to sell the car within two years. Check the DOT date carefully on bulk stock, and avoid fitting GT Radial passenger tyres to high-powered cars driven hard in summer. Our technicians can fit a set at your home or office, typically within 30–45 minutes in Dubai city areas.
