22 tyre brands, compared honestly
We fit every one of these brands every week. Here is what we actually see in UAE heat: which last, which crack early, and what they cost.
Premium
Longest life, shortest braking, best behaviour in heat. Worth it for SUVs, high-mileage commuters and anyone doing regular 120 km/h runs.
-
Michelin Michelin is the safest long-term buy for most UAE drivers: it typically outlasts rivals by 10,000–15,000 km and holds its grip and shape well in 45–50°C summers. Expect to pay AED 450–1,050 per tyre in common 16–18 inch sizes, roughly 20–30% more than mid-range brands.
-
Bridgestone Bridgestone is the world's largest tyre maker by revenue and a strong premium choice for UAE heat, especially on Toyota and Lexus vehicles that often leave the factory on Bridgestone. Common 16–18 inch sizes cost AED 400–950 per tyre, usually a little below Michelin.
-
Pirelli Pirelli is the go-to brand for high-performance and luxury cars in the UAE, with the sharpest dry handling of the premium brands and OE fitments on Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW and Mercedes. Expect AED 450–1,100 per tyre in 16–18 inch sizes, with 20–22 inch P Zero sizes well above AED 1,200.
-
Continental Continental makes the best wet-braking tyres of the major brands and some of the quietest, which suits European cars and anyone who drives the UAE's highways at night or in winter rain. Common 16–18 inch sizes cost AED 420–1,000 per tyre, slightly below Michelin.
-
Goodyear Goodyear is a well-priced premium brand in the UAE, with strong wet grip from the Eagle F1 range and tough Wrangler tyres for 4x4s and pickups. Common 16–18 inch sizes cost AED 380–900 per tyre, usually AED 50–150 below Michelin or Pirelli.
-
BFGoodrich BFGoodrich is an American tyre brand owned by Michelin and is best known in the UAE for its All-Terrain T/A KO2 and newer KO3, the default upgrade for Land Cruisers, Patrols, Wranglers and Hiluxes. Prices run from about AED 550 to AED 1,200 per tyre, and the main reason people pay it is a very tough sidewall and long tread life in sand, gravel and heat.
-
Nitto Nitto is a Japanese tyre brand owned by Toyo Tire Corporation, and in the UAE it is a favourite of 4x4 and performance-car owners, with prices of roughly AED 550–1,300 per tyre. Its Grappler off-road range and NT555 G2 performance tyre are sold at premium prices because they combine strong construction with a distinctive look that suits modified Patrols, Land Cruisers, Wranglers and muscle cars.
Mid-range
Most of the premium performance for 20–35% less. The sweet spot for family sedans and crossovers.
-
Dunlop Dunlop tyres sold in the UAE are made by Japan's Sumitomo Rubber and offer Japanese build quality at a mid-range price, AED 320–750 per tyre in 16–18 inch sizes. They are especially popular on Toyota, Nissan and Lexus vehicles, and the Grandtrek range is a long-standing choice for UAE 4x4s.
-
Yokohama Yokohama is a Japanese mid-to-upper brand best known in the UAE for its Geolandar 4x4 tyres, especially the Geolandar A/T G015 on Patrols and Land Cruisers. Common 16–18 inch tyres cost AED 330–800 each, about 25–35% below Michelin for similar sizes.
-
Hankook Hankook is the strongest-value brand for most UAE drivers: its Ventus tyres come close to premium performance at AED 300–700 per tyre in 16–18 inch sizes, around 30–40% below Michelin. It is also an OE supplier to BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volkswagen, which shows the quality level.
-
Kumho Kumho is a Korean mid-range brand that gives decent grip and comfort at AED 250–580 per tyre in 16–18 inch sizes, roughly half the price of Michelin. It suits budget-conscious commuters, Korean and Chinese cars, and fleets that need dependable tyres without premium pricing.
-
Toyo Toyo is a Japanese brand with a strong following among UAE 4x4 owners, thanks to its tough Open Country tyres for Patrols, Land Cruisers and pickups. Common 16–18 inch tyres cost AED 330–780 each, placing it between Korean brands and the premium names.
-
Falken Falken is a Japanese mid-range tyre brand owned by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, and in the UAE it sells for roughly AED 330–650 per tyre in common 16–18 inch sizes. It gives near-premium dry grip and steering feel for about 25–35% less than Michelin or Bridgestone, which is why it is a popular choice for Camry, Accord, Patrol and Land Cruiser owners who want quality without paying top price.
-
Cooper Cooper is an American tyre brand, owned by Goodyear since 2021, that UAE drivers mainly buy for its Discoverer AT3 all-terrain range for Land Cruisers, Patrols and pickups. Expect roughly AED 450–950 per tyre, usually AED 100–250 less than BFGoodrich in the same size, with very similar tread life. -
Maxxis Maxxis is a Taiwanese mid-range tyre brand made by Cheng Shin Rubber, and in the UAE it costs about AED 260–560 per tyre in common 16–18 inch sizes. It is a sensible step up from Chinese value tyres for Corolla, Sunny, Tucson and Hilux owners, with better consistency and a well-regarded off-road range.
-
Firestone Firestone is an American tyre brand owned by Bridgestone since 1988, and in the UAE it is Bridgestone's lower-priced line at roughly AED 300–650 per tyre in 16–18 inch sizes. It suits drivers who want well-engineered, comfortable tyres with good tread life from a major manufacturer without paying full Bridgestone or Michelin prices.
Value
Fine for city driving and short ownership. Wet braking and heat ageing are weaker, so check pressure more often.
-
Nexen Nexen is a Korean value brand and one of the cheapest reputable options in the UAE, at AED 220–520 per tyre in 16–18 inch sizes. It suits city commuters, second cars and fleets; drivers who do a lot of fast highway driving or need maximum wet grip should spend more. -
GT Radial GT Radial is the main international brand of Giti Tire, a Singapore-headquartered group with factories in China and Indonesia, and in the UAE it sells for about AED 220–480 per tyre in 16–18 inch sizes. It is one of the better value brands: noticeably more refined than the cheapest Chinese tyres, though it does not match mid-range Japanese brands for wet grip or tread life.
-
Zeetex Zeetex is a value tyre brand owned by ZAFCO, a tyre trading company founded in Dubai in 1993, and it is one of the cheapest well-known brands in the UAE at about AED 160–450 per tyre in 15–18 inch sizes. It makes sense for budget-conscious drivers, rental and fleet cars, and owners planning to sell soon, but it gives up wet grip, tread life and refinement compared with mid-range brands.
-
Triangle Triangle is one of China's largest tyre makers, based in Weihai, Shandong, and in the UAE its car tyres cost about AED 170–420 each in 15–18 inch sizes. It is best known worldwide for truck and heavy-equipment tyres; its passenger range is a genuine budget option that is fine for gentle city use but trails mid-range brands for wet grip, comfort and noise.
- Roadstone Roadstone Roadstone is the value sister brand of Korea's Nexen Tire, and in the UAE it costs about AED 220–480 per tyre in common 16–18 inch sizes. Many Roadstone patterns, such as the N'Fera SU1 and Roadian HTX RH5, share their designs with Nexen tyres, so it offers Korean engineering and decent comfort for close to Chinese budget prices.
-
Sailun Sailun is a Chinese tyre maker founded in Qingdao in 2002, and in the UAE its tyres cost about AED 180–430 each in 15–18 inch sizes. It is one of the stronger Chinese value brands, with better wear and more consistent quality than most budget labels, but it still trails Japanese and Korean mid-range tyres in wet braking and refinement.

Questions people ask
Which tyre brand is best for UAE heat?
Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental and Yokohama hold their shape and grip best through a UAE summer in our experience. For 4x4s that see sand, BFGoodrich and Nitto all-terrains cope best with heat and cuts. Whatever the brand, a fresh DOT date matters as much as the logo.
Are Chinese tyre brands safe?
Brands like Triangle and Sailun meet UAE standards and are fine for city driving. Independent tests show longer wet braking distances than premium brands, so they suit smaller cars at moderate speeds better than heavy SUVs on long highway runs.
Can I mix tyre brands on my car?
Keep the same brand and model on each axle at minimum. Different tyres front and rear are acceptable if sizes match the placard, but never mix on the same axle, and never mix on 4WD or AWD cars where tread depth differences strain the drivetrain.
