About Maxxis
Cheng Shin Rubber was founded in 1967 in Yuanlin, Taiwan, initially making bicycle tyres, and launched the Maxxis brand for international markets in the 1980s. It grew into one of the world's larger tyre makers, with factories in Taiwan, mainland China, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. Maxxis is especially strong in bicycle, motorcycle and ATV tyres, and it has supplied original-equipment car tyres to several Japanese and Asian manufacturers. In cars, the brand's reputation rests on dependable touring tyres and a respected range of 4x4 tyres such as the Razr and Bravo families.

Performance
Maxxis passenger tyres such as the Premitra HP5 give predictable, safe road behaviour with good dry grip and stable highway tracking, though wet braking is a step behind brands like Falken or Continental. The Victra Sport 5 offers sportier steering for coupes and hot hatches at a lower price than most UHP rivals. In the 4x4 range, the Razr AT811 is a capable all-terrain that copes well with sand and gravel, and the Razr MT772 is a solid mud tyre for enthusiasts. The Bravo HP-M3 is a comfortable highway tyre for SUVs that stay on tarmac.
Durability and tread life
A Maxxis touring tyre on a mid-size sedan typically lasts 35,000–50,000 km in the UAE, and the Bravo HP-M3 on a compact SUV commonly reaches 45,000–55,000 km. The Razr AT811 tends to give 50,000–60,000 km on a Hilux or Prado with regular rotation. Compounds handle heat reasonably well, but sidewalls on the budget-priced passenger models can show surface cracking after 4 years in outdoor parking, so inspect them during each oil service and replace by year 5.
Maxxis in UAE conditions
Maxxis is widely stocked across Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, including smaller sizes for older Corollas, Yaris and Sunny models and van sizes for Hiace and Urvan fleets. Because some Maxxis stock is imported in bulk, DOT dates vary more than with fast-moving premium brands, so ask for the four-digit code before you agree to the price. For desert use, choose the Razr AT811 rather than the highway Bravo HP-M3, and air down to 15–18 psi on sand.
