About Bridgestone
Shojiro Ishibashi founded Bridgestone in Kurume, Japan, in 1931. The name is a translation of his surname: ishi means stone and bashi means bridge. The company bought the American Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in 1988, which made it a global group, and supplied tyres to Formula 1 from 1997 to 2010. Bridgestone runs its Middle East and Africa operations from a regional office in Dubai, and its Turanza, Potenza, Alenza and Dueler ranges are original equipment on many cars sold here.

Performance
Bridgestone tyres feel firm and connected. The Potenza Sport has some of the best dry grip in its class, and the Turanza T005 gives a planted, secure feel at 120 km/h on Emirates Road. Wet grip is good rather than class-leading on the touring and SUV ranges. Road noise is moderate; on some 18–20 inch SUV sizes you will hear more tread hum than with a Michelin or Continental.
Durability and tread life
Expect 40,000–50,000 km from a Turanza on a family sedan and 45,000–60,000 km from Dueler tyres on a Land Cruiser or Hilux driven mostly on highways. The casing construction resists heat-related separation well, which is why fleet and government 4x4 operators in the Gulf use the Dueler range. Rotate every 10,000 km; Dueler tyres on pickups tend to wear the shoulders if run under-inflated with a load in the bed.
Bridgestone in UAE conditions
If your Land Cruiser, Prado, Hilux or Fortuner came on Bridgestone Dueler tyres, replacing them with the same model keeps the original ride and the ABS and stability-control tuning the car was set up for. UAE stock is largely made in Japan, Thailand and Indonesia. Check the DOT code: 0826 means week 8 of 2026. Japanese-made Dueler tyres in older date codes sometimes sit in warehouses, so ask for a recent date.
