- Tank 300 owners often switch to an all-terrain tyre in 265/65 R17 or 265/60 R18 for better sand grip.
- Air down to 15–18 psi on the dunes and carry a compressor; the Tank 300 has no on-board inflator.
- The Tank 500 hybrid is heavy, so use XL or LT tyres with the original load rating.

When to replace the tyres

Compact SUVs typically need a load index of 100–104 with H or V rating. Large SUVs such as the Land Cruiser, Patrol and LX need 110–116, often with S, T or H rating on H/T and A/T tyres. Many European SUVs specify XL tyres. Never go below the placard load index on a heavy SUV.
